CHICAGO, April 8, 2013: Morgan Lewis announced today that Yasmin Tayyab[1], a trial lawyer who has served as national coordinating counsel in products liability litigation matters, has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Practice, resident in the firm’s Chicago office.
“We are seeing increasing numbers of product liability claims brought against clients in a variety of industries,” said Jami McKeon, leader of Morgan Lewis’s Litigation Practice. “Yasmin’s experience at trial, particularly defending serial and mass tort products liability litigation in various jurisdictions, will be invaluable to our clients who face these claims.”
Ms. Tayyab, a trial attorney, concentrates her practice on national products liability and toxic mass tort litigation. She defends general product and professional liability matters. She has served as national coordinating counsel, trial counsel, and Illinois counsel for several Fortune 500 companies in mass tort litigation, including both asbestos and silica litigation. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Tayyab was a shareholder in the toxic tort practice of a national law firm in Chicago.
“Morgan Lewis’s Chicago office has offered clients a broad range of services since opening almost 10 years ago,” noted Scott Schutte, Managing Partner of the firm’s Chicago office. “We are excited to welcome Yasmin to the firm, deepening our local bench and adding to firm’s litigation capabilities overall.”
As part of 600+ litigators at Morgan Lewis, Ms. Tayyab joins a nationally recognized Product Liability and Mass Torts Litigation Practice that represents clients in class actions, individual lawsuits, and mass tort and multidistrict litigation.
